Howie’s Bar / Howie’s Live

My brother recently purchased Howie’s Bar / Howie’s Live in La Crosse, WI, and he needed a new website for his new venture. Howie’s is a bar and live entertainment venue that serves people from 21 to 101. It has been a fixture in La Crosse for many decades, and my brother’s goal is to modernize the facility to become a hub for live music and entertainment.

Here were his needs for his website:

Be able to manage the site himself
Event calendar / Upcoming shows
Email address database
Post daily specials
Promote their banquet facility
Get into the search engines
Post photos of all the good times had at Howies

The solution:

We implemented WordPress as a CMS to manage his website and help him rank well in the search engines
We utilized Google Calendar and a WordPress plugin to make managing his events and specials a very simple process (including recurring events, like daily specials)
We use FeedBurner to gather email addresses
NextGen Gallery plugin to manage the image gallery

All in all the site turned out very well, and they get a lot of positive feedback from their patrons. I would expect some updates to the site very soon as the needs of the business are growing to meet the demand of their customers.
